Webcams....and why don't they work...!

So now that I spend a lot of time on YouTube, I was thinking of getting a webcamera.
Well actually I got one - but I guess it was to cheap because there's this delay on the sound. It's like 3 or 4 seconds in the clip before the sound actually follows. Maybe it doesn't sound like a lot, but then you try it...

Now my problem is that I don't know what webcam to get. I mean, it's not like I have a lot of money on my hands (and with Christmas coming and all...), but still. It's got to work right. Sound and pictures that works together = video.

I could really use some help here.
What should I look for?
Or even better. Which do you use, and does it work?

Spoiler... L Word... We know who dies!!!

If you don't want to know who dies in "The L Word" don't look any further on this post...

Surfing the internet I found pictures.
Now I don't know if these are some kind of a stunt, or if they really show us who dies in the final season.

Look for yourself:

Apparently it's Jenny...

Well it fits with the description form the last promo:

..Some kind of a party. 7 Ladies inside and a little girl
......found a woman in the swimmingpool.....

Well I only counted 6 women in the first picture: Beth, Tina, Alice, Helena, Shane and Kit (I think it's her 'coz we see her face later on, but she sits with her back first and kindda blocking for Shane a bit). And of course Angelica. But I don't know if Jenny is number 7...?

Both Jenny and Beth looks like they went for a swim, but Beth is the only one still moving. Maybe she tried to save Jenny?

Allthough it seems that we know who, we still don't know why.
I'm still gonna watch it. Even if it's gonna be waaaay later than January.....

There are more pictures of this, and some of Beth, Tina (and Angelica who appears to be ill..?..) here.

To those of you who celebrate (I'm European...):
Happy Thanksgiving!

Yet another promo...

And the suspension increases:

Listen to the dialog:

Some kind of a party. 7 Ladies inside and a little girl....
..found a woman in the swimmingpool..

And I think it's Xena (Lucy Lawless), who plays the lady cop...

Thanx to Rommel for leading me to this video.

Damn! I hate that I don't live in the U.S right now (or at least in January). I won't be able to watch the final season when it aires...

Truth or dare.... With The Beaver Bunch

This week it's TRUTH or DARE on The Beaver Bunch:
Remember it's a new Beaver every day of the week (weekend not included...) so if you want their answers be sure to tune in.

I don't know if it is going to be various truths and dares, but the Beavers (the Bunch) choose from what questions/truths/dares the Baby Beavers (and other Beavers not part of the Bunch) ask them.

ENJOY!!!

Also check out their personal channels (the Bunch) on YouTube:

Monday: Jess

Tuesday: Lori

Wednesday: AJ

Thursday: Michelle

Friday: Lu

Monthly: Kade

And while you are on YouTube, why don't you check out the channel of 5awesomegays?

It's kind of like The Beaver Bunch only it's guys - gay guys.

The L Word......

Final season:
First there was this promo:

For those who didn't quite catch this...

And it most certainly was a teaser:
Was someone going to get killed? Who? Why?
For a really good suggestion - look here.
But I thought that it was just a way to make people all worked up about it (as if the knpwledge of it being the final season wasn't enough).

Apparently it wasn't just for fun:
The second promo.

I saw this on Dorothy Snarkers blog - Dorothy Surrenders. She says it all way better than I could ever do.

Also she writes a blog on AfterEllen. Read her post on the second The L Word promo here.

Pretty pretty unicorn...

This weeks topic(s) for The Beaver Bunch.

If you enjoy being physical with men (whether it be some men or all men), but enjoy being with girls much more, and in general are more attracted to women - would it be acceptable to call yourself gay?

What do you think of "don't ask don't tell," and what would you say to someone who came to terms with their sexuality only after joining the military? Also, while the "don't ask
don't tell" is the policy, do you think gay people should even consider joining the military?

Since it's only Thursday Lu hasn't answered yet, but I really think you should go watch the others answers. And then go watch Lu tomorrow!

What's your type...?

Someone recently asked me what my type is. My answer was "I don't think I have one..."
But it got me thinking.

My first crush was this tall - very tall - girl with long darkbrown hair and piercing blue eyes. And a ton of freckles. She was so cute. This was 4th grade. And she had just transfered to my school. My age.

My second crush - the really big one (it haunted me for years) - was my 7th grade English-teacher. And it wasn't just me. It was more or less the entire class.
She had darkblond hair. Blue eyes. Very pretty smile. Glasses. And older than my mom! But I adored her. I can't describe it. And everybody respected her (not any of our other teachers had that privilige...)

So far notting similar. But...

Since then most of my crushes:
- Have been slightly older than me (allthough a few have been younger)
- Have had dark hair (dark as possible - almost black)
- Have had dark eyes (brownish)
- Have been taller than me

And they have been authorities. Not like in lawyers or police or... But.. It's hard to explain. I guess it's a respect thing. Or a 'in control' kind of thing. I don't know.

The difference between those similar crushes has been that in a lot af them it was an immediate interest/attraction. Or sometimes it started as friendship and somewhere along the way I found myself attracted to them. (But I've never acted on it - I'm such a...)

So I guess I do have a type. But I don't go around thinking "Oh she's got green eyes. That's a no go!" (Well apparently I do think that - but it's not because of her eyes...)
I think its a coincidence what my type is. I see the whole person. Not just the hair colour, or the colour of her eyes. Otherwise I might have caught up on the fact that I apparently have a type, don't you think?

Maybe it's just that my type is girls?

Loving Annabelle... and me

I love "Loving Annabelle." And I was obsessed with it, when I got the DVD. I saw it EVERY DAY. Actually I saw at least once every day the first week – or two. Eventually I just skipped to the good parts (and refused to watch the ending - I'm over that now...)
Why was I so obsessed you might ask (well I suppose you don't - that would involve reading this post - but I asked myself then)?

1. Erin Kelly is hot! Duh!
2. Diane Gaidry is hot (and I'm not usually into blondes! Except for my first serious crush...)!
3. Several hot scenes!

4. I could relate to the story.
Not the boarding school-story.
Not the ‘I am a rebellion teenager’-story. (Well maybe just a bit…)
Certainly to the ‘I have a huge crush on my hot teacher’-story (Oh yeah..).
But I think my main obsession was with Simone’s story. Not the ‘I have a crush on my way younger student’ part of the story but her realization of her own desires – the ones who involve women. When she realizes that she’s allowed to be herself. That she’s allowed to be happy.
I WAS Simone in that story. All the way down to the very, very, very bad sex with the boyfriend. The look on her face during that scene (and it was brilliant acting. Brilliant!). It just… That was how I felt.
Now you might ask (or I did) why were you with a guy in the first place? Well I was not just ‘with him’. We actually were married… Not the happiest time of my life. What can I say? I did what I thought was expected of me – being a good girl and all. Well it’s a long story – a longer story than that. Maybe I’ll write more about that later…
Back to Simone… Or me…
I went through a journey much similar to Simone's.
From vague realization to denial to really big eye opener. And in between lots of major or minor crushes. But not recognized as such. More like: She looks hot - maybe I just want to own her clothes...? Or She's really cute - maybe I just want her as my friend...? Nah. Who was I kidding?

Anyway. I guess that was why I was obsessed this particular movie.

On a sidenote my first obsession with a gaymovie was with "Imagine Me And You". If you look beside the coming out story (and the hot women) it has a bit of denial and realization in it. Again. Relating! And obsession!

Bridget McManus and Karman Kregloe.

In the words of Liz Feldman:

This Just Out:

Please be sure to read the intire article. I only posted the last page because it was the one who was most surprising. (At least to me. But definitely not in a bad way). At first I thought it was a stunt, but now I'm not so sure.

18,000 gay and lesbian couples were married in California during the six months it was legal, before the passage of Prop 8.

AfterEllen posted pictures of some of the happy couples.

Congratulations to all of you.

What does HOMO really mean?

If human is called HOMO SAPIENS, why is it that we are not all homosexuals?
And why would we be that?
Because we all fall in love/or have sex with another human being. That would be another HOMO sapiens, people!!

Did you know that the term "heterosexual" was first listed in Merriam-Webster's New International Dictionary as a medical term for "morbid sexual passion for one of the opposite sex"?
Eventually they got rid of the word "morbid"...

Just some thoughts on the constant labelling that we do every day. Myself included.

Are you acting your age?

Well I must say that I was a bit surprised to see that I actually was acting almost to my age (I am currently 31 years old):

You Act Like You Are 29 Years Old

You are a twenty-something at heart. You feel like an adult, and you're optimistic about life.
You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.
You're still figuring out your place in the world and how you want your life to shape up.
The world is full of possibilities, and you can't wait to explore many of them.

What Age Do You Act?

I'm not sure I like the descibsion though. It's to accurate ;-)
"I don't know... I just thought I would have figured it all out by now..." (Simone in Loving Annabelle - Just by memory. So maybe it's not spot on... )

Obama wins - gays lose... All in one day.

Even though it's a big, big, big YAY to Obamas election, something clouded the joy.

I will qoute what Sarah Warn wrote on her blog on AfterEllen.com:
"American gay rights were delivered a blow tonight, as propositions and amendments that deny or prevent the legalization of same-sex marriage were approved in Arizona and Florida, and marriage rights were actually taken away in California. Arkansas also made it illegal for gay couples to adopt..."

(Here's the whole piece: http://www.afterellen.com/blog/sarahwarn/election-08-results)

Suddenly I'm quite satisfied to live where I live.
Here gays can registrer as partners (much like the marriage at the city hall). It has been legal since 1989. Gays can adopt. Single women (sexual orientation not an issue) can get help to get pregnant.

So why is it, that America isn't ready for that?
I thought that America was supposed to be a rolemodel. A Supernation. Something to be proud of. What happend to: All men are created equal?

I just hope for you that Obama really can make a change.

WTF ABC....?

I have been following Greys Anatomy (mainly on YouTube - since we are not so far in the show in my homecountry) and the evolving of Callie and Ericas relasionship...
But the I suddenly sees an article on AfterEllen.
ABC fired Brooke Smith - who plays Erica Hahn.
And the reason? Well, you better read it for yourself:

http://www.afterellen.com/TV/2008/10/greys-fires-brooke-smith

http://www.afterellen.com/blog/sarahwarn/greys-firing-updates-11-05-08

And apparently it was a surprise to others from the cast as well. Here's what Patrick Dempsey said on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show":

http://www.etonline.com/news/2008/11/67346/

All I have to add:

WTF ABC...?

Bridget McManus

I just love her. She makes me cry - with laughter of course.
She's soooo funny. And it's not exactly a bad thing that she's cute (and hot!) too.
By the way. I would kill to have hair like that. It looks so soft and... Better not get started on that.
I can't quite remember if it was on AfterEllen.com or on YouTube I first saw her... Anyway. I guess that's not important. What is important is that I just can't seem to get enough of her. I have seen "Brunch with Bridget" so many times (going through the episodes one by one. Over and over again. Allthough I have my personal favorites).
And once again I thank you-know-who (and no it's not Voldemort) for YouTube.
Since I'm not an American, I haven't got the pleasure of seeing Miss McManus live so I turn to the second best. Lots and lots of videos!!!

I love comedy - especially when it's Bridget.
I heart Bridget!
