It's official

America's got a brand new President.

And I do think it's a historic day.
Now I'm from a country with a Bush-loving Primeminister *ew* (and I can't ever rap my head around who in the hell voted for him at the last election - neither of them actually), and I hope this will inspire my countrymen to vote more like the Americans next time. We need the change as well!
On a sidenote: Obama has not been to keen on meeting/talking to our Primeminister, and he (our Primeminister) is getting a bit desperate. Maybe if he hadn't been so obsessed with being Bush's friend he might have had a better chance. Geez. That'll teach him!
Anyway. Here's to the future: Photoserver.WS

Obama wins - gays lose... All in one day.

Even though it's a big, big, big YAY to Obamas election, something clouded the joy.

I will qoute what Sarah Warn wrote on her blog on AfterEllen.com:
"American gay rights were delivered a blow tonight, as propositions and amendments that deny or prevent the legalization of same-sex marriage were approved in Arizona and Florida, and marriage rights were actually taken away in California. Arkansas also made it illegal for gay couples to adopt..."

(Here's the whole piece: http://www.afterellen.com/blog/sarahwarn/election-08-results)

Suddenly I'm quite satisfied to live where I live.
Here gays can registrer as partners (much like the marriage at the city hall). It has been legal since 1989. Gays can adopt. Single women (sexual orientation not an issue) can get help to get pregnant.

So why is it, that America isn't ready for that?
I thought that America was supposed to be a rolemodel. A Supernation. Something to be proud of. What happend to: All men are created equal?

I just hope for you that Obama really can make a change.
